The Marriage Manuals
Marriage is a contract. It is a merger-similar to a business merger. This business arrangement does not negate feelings of love and affection that are part of this relationship. The process involves negotiations. Both sides bring their concerns to these negotiations, so that the whole process is one of mutual benefit. The Marriage Manual is a guide to help the couple through the process. Dr.Rasool is available for presentations and consultations

Book Review by: Qur’an Shakir
Concerned with the alarming number of Muslim couples who enter marriage and exit as quickly as they entered, Muslim author Dr. Mulazimuddin S. Rasool prepared three manuals to help couples make better decisions about mate selection. His workbooks: “The Marriage Manual: Before You Marry,” The Marriage Manual: Before You Remarry,” and the “Marriage Manual: Now That You Are Married,” allows and encourages couples to define the mission, goals, and expectations of their relationship as well as open the doorway to get to the difficult-to-ask questions and issues before they settle into the marriage. Dr. Rasool says that marriage is a merger,” and just like a business merger, there are hard negotiations that must be undertaken.”
“The Marriage Manual” focuses on expectations, fulfilling needs, roles and responsibilities, communications, conflict resolution, intimacy, spiritual life and finances. Readers can reflect on the Qur’an and the life example of Prophet Muhammad (saaws) regarding the definition of marriage and relationship practices. This book presents real life instances for couples to respond to, charts the stages of a relationship, and asks couples to determine each stage of their relationship. It gives questions to ask self and a potential mate and helps couples look at patterns of financial management, communication, discipline, child rearing, practice of the deen, basic concepts about management of a home, and more.   “It does not make sense to look back and say,”what happened?” when you can look ahead and say “how can we make this happen successfully?” said Qur’an Shakir, columnist for the Muslim Journal “Road to Nikkah” column. She added, “The Marriage Manual” is an excellent resource that produces practical application of the Al Qur’an and ahadith to guide readers to questions and discussion pointers that are necessary to building stronger, healthier marriage relationships. If couples enter their relationships with open eyes, insha-Allah, they will be better prepared to address issues before they arise.
This book makes couples delve into deep and real issues.”   This self-published manual generates points for inclusion on a working and real marriage contract. Imams, waliys, and parents are encouraged to use the book in counseling couples and guiding them in consideration of marriage.
